As the Senior Incident Manager, you will be at the forefront of our cyber defence strategy, leading the response to security incidents and ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. About the team
The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for engineering and operations, corporate security, governance, operational resilience, risk and compliance. We define and advance the company's security strategy. As a part of the Security Team, the Cyber Incident Management team servers as the frontline defence against cybersecurity threats across the organization. We provide critical incident leadership and coordination, overseeing the triage, investigation, and containment of security events to minimize business impact. Our team excels in stakeholder communication and management during incidents, conducts thorough post-incident reviews to drive continuous improvement, and develops preparedness and resilience strategies. We also establish and monitor KPIs and metrics to enhance our security posture and response capabilities.
We're looking for a problem-solving profesional with passion for cybersecurity crisis management who excels at coordinating complex responses to critical situations. With strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities, you can translate technical information for diverse audience while maintaining a calm, methodical approach during high critical incidents. Your leadership skills enable you to guide teams through challenging scenarios while maintaining focus on resolution and improvement.
In your role, you will...
Lead incident response activities during security events, ensuring proper escalation, communication, and resolution
Develop and maintain incident response plans, playbooks, and procedures aligned with industry best practices
Coordinate cross-functional teams during incident investigations, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration
Conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes, document lessons learned, and implement process improvements
Manage incident documentation and reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
Provide expert guidance to stakeholders on incident management best practices and security protocols
Lead tabletop exercises and simulations to test and improve incident response capabilities
Monitor and analyse security alerts and events to identify potential incidents requiring escalation
Establish metrics to measure incident response effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
Your qualifications

What we need from you
Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
Experience in cybersecurity, incident response or security operations
Demonstrated experience leading incident response activities and coordinating cross-functional teams
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and incident management methodologies
Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools and incident tracking systems
Strong communication skills in English
Nice-to-have
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, or SANS certifications
Experience in a regulated industry (finance, healthcare, etc.)
Knowledge of threat intelligence and its application to incident response
Familiarity with digital forensics tools and techniques
Experience with cloud security incident response
Project management skills and experience leading process improvement initiatives
Spanish language
For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 60,000 and EUR 100,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
