How to use Hire A Hero Effectively


Tips to help you achieve your career goals.

  1. The most important thing you can do is to copy and paste your resume onto our website. (Employers will NOT even give you a look if this isn't complete.) If you need assistance writing your resume you need to join the I need Career Advise group located in groups under "other member Groups.Then once you have joined make sure you reach out to our Volunteer Career coaches group and ask for assistance. (they are here to help you)
  2. Your profile: This is where you want to talk a little about your self, make it more personal, employers are more likely to search your profile if they can read a little but about you.
  3. Search and apply for jobs: When you apply for a position make sure that you follow up with the employer a couple days after you apply. (Employer like to see people that have initiative)
  4. Network! Network! Network!: We can not encourage you enough to get out and talk to other members in your military group and ask for help. The more people you speak with the better chances you will have finding a quality career.
* New to our site: We have developed groups for people who have found a job and want to continue to help those that were once in their shoes. We have not announced this publicly  to our members, but hope to release it to our old members sometime in the up and coming month. Once we are confident the groups are working correctly we will make an announcement to our members looking for work to reach out to people in their career field.
